Friends:
We need help. I am writing for your assistance in three ways:
- Please consider giving a small (or large) amount to Adams Avenue Crossing on a monthly basis, preferably through our automatic bank-draft system.
- Help the cause by promoting Adams Avenue Crossing through your network, and advising me as to individuals, churches, mission boards or corporations who might have a heart for what we’re doing and the means to give.
- Pray for Adams Avenue Crossing, that we can meet our fundraising goals.
For our fundraising goals we’ve adopted a 30-100-300 mantra. We’re looking for people or institutions who can give $30, $100 or $300 per month. These numbers may be steep, but so is life in Mid-City, where people live amidst poverty, gangs, drugs and prostitution. Any monthly amount helps – even $5.
Two of the chief complaints against the church are 1) it is not outward or missional enough – it does not go out to the people and help them where they are – and 2) it does not help the needy ones. Together we can render such complaints irrelevant and provide a model for bringing the kingdom of heaven to the dark corners of the world.
Thank you for your considerations. Asking for money is not the most comfortable thing, on either side. I hope you will find this an opportunity, as do I, to return some of the blessings of a fortunate life.
Sincerely,
T.C. Porter
