Spring Clean

This is part of our ongoing initiative, Trash Ekklesia. It meets our two-fold purpose of transforming Normal Heights while also encouraging churches to live lives of compassion and service.

From Kimberly Dawsey-Richardson of FHPC:

We are eager to share this experience with you! This is going to be a very casual, significant time to dialogue about how to be missional for the Lord – what this means and what this looks like.

Here are some additional notes:

  • We will not be walking a lengthy distance (perhaps 4-5 long blocks round-trip) but it will be slow and take a couple of hours. Dress comfortably.
  • If you would like to attend but need wheelchair assistance please confirm this with kim.dawsey-richardson@fhpc.org.
  • Children are welcome. We suggest a stroller for infants and toddlers who can’t be on there feet too long.
  • Dogs are welcome.
  • We will be stopping at a neighborhood market midway to gather as a group. You will have the opportunity to buy snacks or beverages if you’d like.
  • Please bring a trash bag if you have extras. We’ll also have trash pickers and gloves.
  • For those who can stay, we’ll be having lunch at Lestat’s, ending where we began and reflecting on our experiences. Dogs can be on the outdoor patio.

Before attending, take time to reflect on T.C. Porter’s video reflection (below).

We pray this will be a time to serve, walk, talk, enjoy fellowship, and reflect on the ways God has led us to be His aroma wherever we find ourselves.
